Contacting the Pensions Section
If you have an enquiry that is not covered on the website please contact our helpdesk, either by telephone or completing the online enquiry form
Pension estimates
If you are interested in having an estimate of your pension, then an online ‘Benefit Projector’ is available if you register for a Member Self-Service account. To help you plan for your retirement, you can obtain as many estimates as you like by using this tool.
Formal estimates
If the retirement date you are considering is within the next 12 months, then the Pensions team can provide you with a formal estimate on paper.
If the retirement date you are considering is more than 12 months in the future, the online Benefit Projector in your Self-Service account will provide a suitable pension estimate.
In some circumstances a paper estimate might be provided to you if you need an estimate for a reason which is not covered by the online Benefit Projector.
Flexible retirement
If you are thinking about taking ‘Flexible Retirement’ you’ll need to speak with your employer first to obtain written approval.
Ill health retirements
The Pensions Section is not involved in cases of ill health until the employer has decided on an 'ill health tier'. Until the ill health tier awarded by the employer is known, the Pensions Section cannot provide estimates of ill health benefits under any circumstances.
